The English Cottage Garden Nursery is a small nursery based in Godmersham in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are very much into green issues and caring for the environment and grow a wide variety of wildflowers and some herbs - the majority of which are not easily found in garden centres, and all are grown in peat-free compost in an organic manner. We also sell wildflower seeds, meadow seed mixes, mason bee nest kits, pots and seeded paper.

Over time we have developed almost a passion for wildflowers in particular and this is reflected in the different varieties we grow. Wildflowers are becoming increasingly rare in the wild and it is, therefore, important that we plant suppliers, gardeners, designers and landscapers do all we can to preserve these native species for future generations. It is also important from the point of view of the wildlife who feed on these wildflowers: no wildflowers = no wildlife.

This keenness regarding wildflowers and biodiversity led us to expand into the wedding business, providing bespoke wildflower seed-related favours and seeded paper products. We found were getting increasing numbers of enquiries from businesses who wanted eco-friendly promotional products and so we diversified into this area too. Each year we get more and more business and event customers ordering from us - a sign that more and more people are not happy with today's throwaway society and want to do more for the environment. Why would you want to give promotional pens, notepads, keyfobs etc when you could provide a constant reminder of your business or event via something that will grow and give back to the environment and the wildlife it depends on?

We have also adopted the Flora Locale Code of Practice. Flora Locale is a wildflower charity promoting the wise use and supply of native flora. Adopting their Code of Practice means that, where known, we will provide information on seed/plant origin. This may be important, for example, if you are creating a meadow area that must only have native British wildflower seeds or for a promotional event where seed provenance is important. We are also registered with FERA as a supplier of preservation seed mixes.

We are very concerned over the plight of our native creatures and so have lent our support to the following charities who do a wonderful job in helping our native butterflies and moths, bumblebees and flora/fauna in general - Butterfly Conservation - Kent Wildlife Trust and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust

We are also concerned about humans too and we check that the suppliers of any paper sourced from abroad treat their paper producers in an ethical and fair manner.

We are a very friendly business so please do not hesitate to call with your promotional requirements. All designs are very adaptable, and our products are of excellent quality and value.
